After years of playing, teaching, and performing, Phyllis Hoffman is the name Kansas Citians associate with Professional Harpist. Phyllis is an extremely gifted harpist who loves sharing her music with the public. She is wonderful and entertaining when performing in ensemble or playing solo.
Phyllis plays anything from classical to contemporary, from Irish to Scottish. Her beautiful style of playing makes her a favorite for brides-to-be when making their wedding plans. Her music creates the perfect atmosphere at company get-togethers, special anniversaries, bar mitzvahs, and gallery openings.
Phyllis began studying harp at the precious age of five. After attending Brandeis University and earning her degree from University of Kansas, she returned to her hometown of Kansas City. She has played with the Kansas City Philharmonic, John Tesh, the Billy Taylor Trio, the Kansas City Camerata, and even the Manhattan Transfer.
Phyllis teaches privately in her Lenexa, Kansas home and through various community and state schools. She enjoys conducting workshops and joining in hands-on programs in the community.
