Phyllis began studying harp at the precious age of five. She continued with both harp and piano lessons throughout her childhood years. She attended Brandeis University and earned a degree from University of Kansas. After university, she returned to her hometown of Kansas City.
Good news and bad. The good news is that she finished university as an accomplished and well-rounded harpist. That's great, right? So what could be so bad? While she was away from home studying, her mother gave her harp away. Ouch! It took many years and a lot of determination, but she did manage to get a new one. Since then there has been no stopping her!
Phyllis's long and varied musical accomplishments can be viewed on her resume. She spends her time loading up one of her gleaming gold harps into the back for her van and driving to performances and events all around the midwest.
Phyllis teaches adults and children; both privately and through community school programs. She gives private and group lessons in her home in Lenexa, Kansas. She also conducts workshops and hands-on workshops in the community.
